What are "lulupegs" and how did they come about?

Our lulupegs
are handmade dolls, made with all cotton materials and filled with a natural, proprietary blend of seeds. Six months ago when we created our first dolls, they were meant to be warmed and placed in bed with babies to comfort and help them sleep. Later, we learned that they calm and soothe agitated dementia patients as well.

Like many inventions, our discovery was serendipitous!

Ironically, we named them after our mothers, who were both diagnosed with dementia. So, it's come full circle.

What has been the response?

Amazing! After witnessing how one of the dolls comforted a massage client with late-stage Alzheimer's disease, we tested the lulupegs
at a few local nursing homes, and each time the results were the same. They had a comforting and calming effect on even the most agitated of residents.

We immediately trademarked them and have contracted Mona Hayden to help get the word out. We have also hired additional help to keep up with the sudden demand.

Where are they going?

Everywhere! We have medical professionals, psychologists and researchers who are endorsing the dolls as therapeutic, not only for dementia patients, but for children and adults with autism as well as relief of aches and pains.

Our Lulu, with her favorite Whoo

Those who suffer from Alzheimer's disease are often agitated and frightened when in a busy, unfamiliar place, such as a doctor's office or restaurant. This setting for Lulu would have been a perfect example; however, she was relaxed and more concerned about her Baby Whoo than her surroundings. We love this video.

SERENDIPITY:
“a fortunate happenstance” or “pleasant surprise.”

The word was coined by Horace Walpole in 1754. In a letter he wrote to a friend, Walpole explained an unexpected discovery he had made by reference to a Persian fairy tale, The Three Princes of Serendip. The princes, he told his correspondent, were “always making discoveries, by accidents and sagacity, of things which they were not in quest of.”
